The barn has
been found on a map dating back to 1800 and is thought to be an addition to the
adjoining barn which was used as a stable, coach house, wash house,
cellar. Kings cottage barn has been used as ancillary accommodation to the
old inn, as stables and even the venue for the Stibbard Brass band to
practice. The renovation commenced in December 2005.
Kings Cottage Barn has been lovingly converted
to include original beams and a vaulted ceiling. It has been restored to a
high standard with attractive furnishings. The property is all on one
level and situated near the owners

Kings Cottage
The main part of the
cottage dates back to about 1600, the time of Charles I and Oliver
Cromwell and the Roundheads. The footprint of the cottage has been found on a map dating back to 1605 at
County Hall. Up until 1968 it had been an old inn known as 'The
Horseshoes' and 'Kings Arms'. The cottage
is set in about 1.5 acres of lawn, trees, and vegetable plot. Vegetables
and fruit including apple, pear, plum, raspberries are available during
the year.
